The app currently has content in Tamil and Hindi, but we have plans to add more Indian and South Asian languages in future updates. It also offers a way for Tamil and Hindi speakers to learn English. The app is free with some paid in-app purchases.

This app helps children learn script-based languages using digital books without having to learn the script first. Our first book “Everyday Words”, is a collection of words representing simple objects, relationships and emotions. The words are written in Tamil or Hindi script and transliterated in English. There is also an audio cue to help the user practice the pronunciation. Included in the app, is a simple memory game at the end so that the child can test their learning. The books are available for native Tamil and Hindi speakers to learn these “Everyday Words” in English too.

We put the focus on first expanding vocabulary and introducing correct pronunciation. With enough exposure over time, context and script recognition can take place to cement the language in a little one’s mind. Our app is also beneficial for children with speech delays, for multi-lingual families, and English language learners.

Children with speech delays can benefit from the audio cues which provide sound and word modeling to help kids sound out a more natural pronunciation.
